The Headteacher’s Values Award was presented to Sam Fawcett, Year 11 student. Sam was nominated by Mr Lunn who said: “Sam did the national Intermediate Maths Challenge alongside about 80 other students from Richmond School. It is very hard to get a Gold Award and Sam was amongst nearly 20 students from Richmond School who obtained this award. Sam, however, obtained enough marks to get through to the Intermediate Olympiad.
“Only the best 500 scores in the country qualify for this next stage and Sam’s score was comfortably within the threshold for qualification. In fact Sam answered every question correctly apart from one of the easiest set (and these are still hard!). This is a phenomenal achievement and very significant.”
