The Headteacher’s Values Award was presented to Alex Macpherson, in Year 13. Alex was nominated by both Ms Mannion and Miss Pemberton.
Ms Mannion wrote: “I would like to nominate Alex MacPherson for his Dance assemblies this week, they have been so inspiring. Doing an assembly is a really big achievement and there is absolutely no way that I could have done that at the age of 18! We often bring in guest speakers to inspire students and to give “Careers Ideas”, and younger students tend to prefer to hear from another young person, so very well done to Alex for being an ambassador for Performing Arts.”
Miss Pemberton wrote: “Alex has shown excellent progression in CTEC Performing Arts throughout the 2 year course. Alex’s confidence has grown enormously along with his organisation and resilience, overcoming any challenges that cross his path. This year especially, Alex has shown commitment and a passion for Dance. I don’t think there has been an evening when I have not seen him rehearsing in the studio. Alex has joined me after school every Monday since September to lead Evolution Dance Club, choreographing 2 routines with over 50 students. Alex upheld a leading role in organising the Dance Showcase to ensure all runs smoothly and professionally. Alex has continued to shine through auditions and has recently received an offer to study Dance at his first choice institution, UCEN Manchester. I couldn’t be prouder!”
