Headteacher’s Values Award Winner

The Headteacher’s Values Award was presented to Ruben Putt, in Year 10.

Ruben was jointly nominated by Miss Tucker, Miss Knowles, Mrs Dawson and Mrs Gayton, who wrote: “We would like to nominate Ruben for the Headteacher’s Values Award for absolute excellence and respect.  Ruben has always been a caring and helpful student but has completely excelled himself this September. We asked eight students, including Ruben to help us at the Year 6 Open Evening. They all represented the school excellently but Ruben just went above and beyond to make both students and parents welcome. Without any prompting from us Ruben introduced himself to parents, discussed with Year 6 students what they would learn in Food Technology in Year 7, discussed his favourite things about the subject and about the school overall. He made sure all the Year 6 students had a sticker to say they had visited the department, advised parents of how to get to where they were going next and more. He got so involved talking to visitors we think he sometimes forgot he was there to cook too! Many parents commented on how welcoming and respectful Ruben was to them. He was and is an absolute credit to the school and he made the late evening an absolute pleasure.”
