Headteacher’s Credit Values Award winner

21 March 2023  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in:

The Headteacher’s CREDIT Values Award was presented to Joe Mckinlay, in Year 11.

Joe was nominated by Miss Tucker who said: “Joe is one of those students who works hard and produces excellent work day in, day out, without question. Joe is fairly quiet and always works very independently and so sometimes doesn’t get the credit he deserves. As his tutor, I have noticed that he has not received a single C in Year 11. From memory, I believe he has only ever had 1 C throughout his almost 5 years here.

“As his Food teacher, I have had the pleasure of watching Joe’s creative cooking skills develop fantastically, particularly over the last year. Joe works in a pub, The Greyhound Inn at Hackforth, where he started by washing dishes and lending a hand in making desserts. Joe now cooks more often at the pub as well as researching new dishes, which the pub has since added to the menu. It is exciting to watch Joe’s Food knowledge and skills develop and I can’t wait to see what he cooks next!”
