Harriett Wilson, in Year 9, is no stranger to fundraising, having organised a host of events in the last few years. From litter picking to running, as well as campaigning to Rishi Sunak MP about her concerns about the problem of plastic and litter which harm wildlife and the environment, Harriet is a true community champion.
Having previously baked cakes to support the work of the Dog’s Trust Charity, Harriett’s latest culinary venture has been to bake homemade dog biscuits, with the help of her friend Vicky, a former Richmond School student. They have sold the biscuits mainly door-to-door in Middleton Tyas with a few added donations from friends and family. Their efforts have raised £62 for the Greyhound Trust in Darlington. The Trust, established in 2012, does amazing work rehoming retired grey hounds.
