Halfway through March Miles and we are going around the world with 24901 miles!

We are now half way through March and WHAT a month of miles it has been already with 15,986.2 miles being logged so far! Team Richmond School have completely smashed the initial target of 8000 miles, thanks to an unbelievable response from both students and staff. We obviously need to increase our target and so we are now aiming to get around the world in 31 days. This means our new target is the circumference of the Earth – 24,901 miles. It might sound ambitious but we’re confident that as a team we can rise to the challenge.
This halfway point can sometimes be a time when motivation levels dip slightly; the initial enthusiasm has worn off and the end of the challenge still seems a long way away. This is the time where two of our school values, resilience and independence, are so important. Keep focused on your target number of miles, keep pushing yourself to be the best you can be and keep in mind why we are doing this challenge. Whilst we are all working on our own individual targets, remember that this is a TEAM challenge. We’re in it together, working hard to clock up the miles and raise some money for a fantastic cause. Keep up the good work everyone!
Thanks to some of our student leaders, Uchenna and Joely (Year 13) and Ellen (Year 11), for taking the time to put together a short video with some ideas and advice to help you over the coming weeks. You can watch the video HERE
Thanks also to Will (Year 10), Kirsty (Year 9) and Sophie (Year 7) for sending in some pictures of them getting their miles in last week, which you can enjoy in the gallery above. If anyone else would like to send in an action shot or a selfie whilst out and about, completing some miles, we’d love to see them and use them on our updates. Please email them to hsouthgate@richmondschool.net.
