Farewell to Lesley Sweeting, Clerk to the Local Governing Body

15 December 2021  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in:

We are very sad to say goodbye to Lesley Sweeting, who has been the Clerk to the Local Governing Body for almost 11 years. During this time, Lesley has done a tremendous job, offering unfaltering support to the Governors and the school community.

Jenna Potter, Headteacher, said: “Lesley is a genuine expert and as Clerk to the Governing Body has guided us with real clarity through all matters related to governance.  We are absolutely indebted to her for taking such good care of us, for her superb efficiency and for her willingness to go above and beyond – she does this constantly. We will really miss her.”

Lesley said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as clerk and during the period I have been involved with the school there have been many changes – including the new build (not so new now), the school becoming an academy, changes of staff and of governors, and some challenges along the way!

“I will miss working with the current great team of governors who work tirelessly along with staff in the best interests of the school  – and of course the lovely shortbread biscuits from the kitchen!”

Judy Hooton, Chair of the Local Governing Body, said: “We are most appreciative to Lesley for her dedication to the school and her extensive knowledge of governance and wish her all the very best as she moves further south.”
