FABULOUS AIMING HIGH ASSEMBLY WITH CHARLOTTE PORTER
We were delighted to welcome Charlotte Porter, former student and Principal of Charlotte Jacqueline School of Dance, as our Aiming High guest speaker today. Charlotte gave a thought-provoking presentation to our Years 7,8,9 and 10 students about her pathway from a Richmond School student with a passion for dance, to becoming the owner of her own multi-award-winning Dance School at The Station, as well as being the youngest qualified medic of the Swaledale Mountain Rescue team.
The Aiming High Assemblies were all uplifting, celebrating the huge amount of positive news and successes of our students this half term. The students and staff were entertained by members of the choir who sang a beautiful arrangement of ‘Stand by Me’, as well as some stunning performances by our talented dancers.
Charlotte said: “It has been so lovely to be welcomed back to Richmond School… at last! It is so exciting to hear that their dance and theatre departments are going from strength to strength with an amazing amount of students participating in so many opportunities. We love being able to support students at Richmond within performing arts and look forward to continuing to do so.”
