Escape with a book – Richmond School reading recommendations

The academic benefits of reading are very well known: increased vocabulary and comprehension as well as improved brain connectivity and enhanced empathy. However, did you know that reading is proven to reduce stress as well as helping to ensure you have a restful nights’ sleep?

This has been a very demanding academic year and we’d like to encourage all of our students to ‘escape with a book’ this summer. Overseas travel may be limited in 2021, but there’s nothing to prevent us from escaping to faraway shores or travelling in time with a great novel. Perhaps you prefer to read nonfiction texts? Have a look at our suggestions HERE    to see whether you can find something to spark your imagination.

We look forward to hearing about your literary adventures in September! Have a great summer.
