ENCOURAGING CHILDREN UNDER FIVE TO SPEND MORE TIME OUTDOORS

09 November 2022  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in:

Are you a parent/carer of a child under 5? If yes, North Yorkshire Sport would love to hear from you!

They want to find out more about the time you spend outdoors with your family and would value your input to help shape their future work in your area. To get involved, please complete this short online survey here.

North Yorkshire Sport is part of five Active Partnerships from around the country who are working in partnership to understand how to get more families with children under 5 using the outdoors. They  are looking to reach as many local families with children under 5 as possible through the survey.

They want to explore what prevents families from using the outdoors and what would encourage people to spend more time outdoors with their children. The outdoors has many benefits including improved mood, focus, sleep, activity levels, lowered stress levels and blood pressure and it can help to connect people to their community.

By gaining as much insight as possible will enable the group to help shape a future project which aims to improve people’s health and wellbeing through spending more time outdoors.
