Richmond School and Sixth Form College students are widely involved in their local communities, taking part in a huge range of different activities, but especially playing sport. One of the many local rugby clubs attended by our students is Catterick Crusaders. Alexandra Baines, mum of Harrison, one of the players, contacted us with this report about a recent cup final win by the U12 team:

“I am delighted to inform you that eleven Year 8 boys from Richmond School were part of the Catterick Crusaders team that claimed an incredible victory in the Under-12s Rugby League Cup Final this weekend. The final took place at Kingston Park Stadium, where the team secured a dominant 30-6 win.

 The boys involved were:

 Steeno Lewavakula (captain)

Callum Coburn

Harrison Baines

Sam Kawa

Oliver Pickles

Archie Thomas

Moses Sugutuaga

Issac (Zac) Airey

Charlie Downes

Ryan Wills

Tobyn Gardner

The team are coached by Adam Coburn (Callum’s Dad) and have been undefeated all season. Their hard work, commitment, and talent truly earned them the title of the best team in the North East League.

We are incredibly proud of their achievements and wanted to share their success with the school – especially as over half of the team are from Richmond school!”

Congratulations to all players in the squad, as well as the coaches, families and friends of the players who do so much to support the team.

As usual, we are very happy to publish stories that we are sent, celebrating the achievements of our students, team or individual, in any sport or activity, from any year group. Achievements of ex-students also very welcome!
