Ctec Sport Students organise great inter-tutor rounders’ tournament

27 April 2022  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in: ,

The Year 12 Ctec Sport students organised and led a great inter-tutor rounders’ tournament.  Due to the inclement weather, the event relocated to the sports hall, however this didn’t dampen spirits and all the students had fun in the friendly competition. It was a close call, but 12 Norman scored the most rounders securing 1st place, with 12 Abbey in second and 12 Mawer coming third.

Ellen Atkinson, one of the organisers said: “As part of our course we have to organise and run a sporting event and as a group we decided a rounders tournament would be a fantastic opportunity to enable all students in Year 12 to be involved. It was a shame we couldn’t play outside but there was still a brilliant sense of camaraderie in the teams. We are looking forward to hosting another event later in the summer.”

Mr Westgate, PE Teacher, said: “The rounders’ tournament was a huge success. I was really impressed with how well the Ctec students worked together to ensure the event ran seamlessly, ensuring all health and safety and first aid precautions were in check, recording and analysing results, refereeing the games and,of course, creating an event that everyone enjoyed.
