Year 10 students, Ben Dale, Harris Mcfarlane, Matty Callender, Max Booth and Sam Connolly are delighted and honoured to have secured positions in the North Yorkshire squad. They are looking forward to the series of matches which will culminate in the Northern Counties Tournament at Middlesbrough Football Club.   No strangers to footballing success, the students all play in the school team, having recently won the Richmondshire and Hambleton area seven-a-side cup final, and also play for the area team. Ben Dale, Captain of both the Area team and the Richmond School squad, commented: “It is a privilege to be selected from the trial, with over 90 players attending.  I’m determined to work hard in the upcoming games to be selected for the County squad into the U16 season.’   Jonathan Kellett, PE Teacher at Richmond School and Sixth Form College, said: “The students have shone in their games for the school and the area, consistently demonstrating great determination, strength and the right attitude to succeed. This inherent team cohesiveness and understanding will be a great advantage when playing for the County team. They have made great strides in improving their game and it is a huge, standout achievement that the County has selected five of our students to compete at such a high level. The School has an enviable track record for producing County-standard footballers and we are incredibly proud that our students will once again be representing North Yorkshire school sport.”
