CELEBRATING EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES

To mark European Day of Languages, former student Daniella Wood was invited back to school to present an assembly about her love of languages and how she has used them since leaving Richmond School and Sixth Form College.
Daniella studied French and German A-level and then went on to read both languages at Newcastle University. She taught herself Russian, Spanish, Dutch and Italian and she now lives in Germany, running her own company – an English language online school called “English With Ease”.
Mrs Norman, Lead Teacher for Modern Languages, said: “We were delighted to welcome Daniella back to school to share her experiences of Modern Foreign Languages. It is always interesting for our students to hear how skills they learn from subjects they study at school can be transferable to their future careers. Languages are no exception, with many opportunities to use them in the world of work. We are most appreciative to Daniella for sparing her time to visit us and we are looking forward to doing a feature with her to find out more about her passion for Languages and where they have taken her.”
