Can you make a difference to a lonely or isolated elderly person this Christmas?

24 November 2020  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in:

We are supporting an appeal by Age UK North Yorkshire and Darlington to collect gifts for the many elderly people who may have to face Christmas alone and will miss out on social contact with family and friends. Our staff are bringing in items to create gift boxes, so if students and their families would also like to support this wonderful project then please can students bring in their contributions to student services by Friday 4th December. We would suggest items such as puzzle books, hot chocolate, biscuits, warm socks, gloves, slippers, scarves, hats, toiletries, confectionary, pens or handmade gifts – the list is endless but no alcohol please. You could donate just one gift or several gifts in a shoe box or similar container. If you plan on wrapping a box in wrapping paper please make sure the lid can be taken off. Please could you also label if the box/gift is for male/ female/ unisex. Thank you for your support.
