Astounding 25-0 result from Year 8 and 9 footballers

10 January 2022  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in:

We are blown away by the phenomenal performance of our Year 8 and 9 girls football team who headed to Settle to play Settle College in the Under 14’s county cup fixture, just before the Christmas break. They played brilliantly and secured an amazing score of 25-0.  This outstanding victory takes them to the next round of the championship cup. Player of the match was Grace Dobson, in Year 8, who scored 12 goals.
Beth Johnson, PE teacher, said: “Well done to all the players, I’m tremendously proud of you, and the rendition of ‘Sweet Caroline’ on the way home was the icing on the cake – to quote Mr Potter, ‘at least they’re better singers than the boys!’ “
The goal scorers were:
Grace Dobson – 12
Lily Mae McCafferty – 1
Emmy Raggett – 2
Emma Farrow – 6
Izzy Rutterford – 1
Elisha Jones – 3
