Areté modern languages challenge will take our Year 7 to 10 students to amazing destinations!
Calling our Year 7 to 10 students to take part in this half-term’s challenge where the task is to investigate some amazing destinations across the world where English is not the first language. You have until Monday 5th July to carry out research on a French, Spanish, or German speaking destination of your choice and design a poster, leaflet, or presentation ‘selling’ your destination to potential tourists. Be sure to include the following information:
• Where is your destination?
• How many people live there?
• What is the climate like?
• What are its main attractions?
• Why should somebody visit?
• Some ‘essential’ words and phrases you will need to get by
We suggest you present your submission on google slides, however this is not compulsory. It is expected that you present in English but you may wish to include some words and phrases in the target language. Remember to include several pictures. You may even include links to video clips. Remember, the more original and creative your work, the better chance you have of winning!
