An incredibly popular Primary Quick Sticks Hockey Festival

02 February 2023  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in: ,

The Quick Sticks Hockey Festival for pupils in Years 3-4 and Years 5-6 proved incredibly popular with over 20 teams participating from 8 of our local primary schools. The event was supported by Sports Leaders from Years 7 to 10. The Leaders officiated the games to make sure they were safe and enjoyable for pupils taking part. They also ran tasks such as time keeping, scoring, inputting results and presenting medals to ensure the festival ran smoothly.  Thank you to the leaders: Bertie, Isaac, Guy, Joe, Ava, Bess, Sammie, Ellen, Emmy, Georgina and Josie.

Many thanks to all of the participating primary schools for supporting the event: Barton, Brompton-on-Swale, Bolton-on-Swale, Michael Syddall, Ravensworth, Richmond Methodist, Richmond St Marys and Sacred Heart

Year 3-4 Results

This competition was run in two groups due to the large number of teams taking part. The top two teams from each group then qualified to play in a semi-final. These teams were Richmond St Marys against Ravensworth and Brompton-on-Swale against Michael Syddall. Two very close semi-finals then saw Brompton and Richmond St Mary’s progress to the final and Brompton on-Swale were crowned the eventual winners.
