ALICE IN WONDERLAND: MEET THE QUEEN OF HEARTS
Watch out or it will be ‘off with your head’! Introducing Sophia, in Year 12, as the Queen of Hearts.
What do you particularly like about your character?
I particularly like how she easily commands the room with her frightening presence – it makes her especially fun to play.
Have you performed in any shows before, if so, please tell us a little about your experiences?
I’ve been in various shows with the school’s theatre group, such as When They Go Low, which was performed to the school, and the Edelweiss Pirates for the One-Act Festival. Outside of school, I’ve also regularly performed with the Georgian Theatre’s youth theatre, including at the Edinburgh Fringe in a production of The Picture of Dorian Gray.
What are you enjoying most about being part of Alice?
It’s really exciting to take on such an iconic story and character in a new way, and it shows in how fun rehearsals are!
What is your favourite moment of the show so far?
The Queen’s unbirthday party, but any time I get to shout ‘off with their heads!’ is a close second.
Why should you buy a ticket to come and watch Alice and Wonderland?
It’s such a fun and crazy show – you’d be severely missing out if you didn’t!
The show runs from 30th November to 2nd December. Tickets are priced £9 for adults, £7 for children (age 16 and under) or £30 for a family ticket (2x adults and 2xchildren). They are available here.
