ALICE IN WONDERLAND CAST REVEALED

During the audition process of Alice in Wonderland we were inundated with high-standard, charismatic audition performances. Around 50 students auditioned for named roles of the production with only 19 speaking roles to fill. The students were put through their paces, having to act, dance and sing repertoire from the show that they had previously workshopped. Students auditioned in front of Mr Birdsall, Miss Manning, Guy Feakins and Poppy Mortimer who then had the difficult job of casting. There was a lot of deliberation and changes throughout the casting session as the talent presented was exceptional. The role of Alice was one that stalled us the most due to the evident determination of the auditionees for that role!
We are now four weeks into rehearsals and we are completely taken back by the sheer determination and creativity of the whole cast so far. The cast is made up of 50+ students from Years 7 to 12 with such an array of performing experience and they are already a closely compact group, supporting and developing one another. Things are moving fast, we have set and blocked the opening scenes already along with our first big cast musical number as Alice enters Wonderland.
We are looking forward to our technical team joining us after half term to complete the full cast for the production to start designing and creating all things set, costume, props, lighting and sound that we need to transform the stage into Wonderland! Keep your eyes peeled for our regular “Meet the Cast” interviews!
