Alex shares his experiences of dance

25 April 2022  |  Jill Lundberg  |  Posted in: ,

National Dance Week kicked off with an inspirational talk for our Year 8 students by Alex Macpherson, in Year 13. Alex studies Performing Arts and specialises in Dance. Alex’s interest in Dance started when he joined Richmond School seven years ago and since then he has taken part in many dance-related after-school clubs, performed at a range of dance showcases and festivals and studied Dance at GCSE and CTEC.

Alex talked to the students about how Dance has helped him to develop a number of different skills, such as creativity and choreography.   It has also improved his confidence and taught him about resilience and how to take feedback and sometimes knock backs. Alex encouraged the students to consider getting involved in the wide range of Dance and Performing Arts opportunities at school.

Thank you so much Alex, for sharing your experiences, and we wish you all the very best when you start your Foundation Course in Dance in September.
