AARON RAISING MONEY FOR ‘TEAM ALF’ IN 5K INFLATABLE RUN THIS SATURDAY
Aaron Hutchinson, Year 8 student at Richmond School, along with over 150 others, is taking part in a 5km Inflatable Run at Harewood House, Leeds this Saturday 29th June.
The event has been organised by Oscar’s Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity, to raise money to support and care for children facing brain tumours and their families, to raise awareness of children’s brain tumours and to fund new research.
Aaron is running with over 80 friends and family for ‘Team Alf’ in memory of his younger brother, Alfie Jack, who was sadly lost to a brain tumour aged 10 earlier this year. Many of the participants are coming from Crakehall Primary School, where Alfie was a pupil.
We recently talked to Aaron about the event, amongst other things. He certainly shouldn’t have any trouble completing the distance – he regularly runs 5km after school with his mum, Louise, and is very keen on keeping fit for his football. He plays for Catterick Village U13s, who have just won their league and he’s a regular player in the successful Year 8 team at school. He’s a Liverpool supporter, but often has an opportunity to watch Newcastle games at St James’ Park. He enjoyed watching from the stands as Alfie walked out onto the pitch as Mascot at the beginning of the year.
Aaron is very much looking forward to the event on Saturday. The team are all going to be wearing T shirts with ‘Team Alf’ printed on the back. He’s looking forward to the run and the inflatable obstacles, but especially running with his mates and his family. He says there’s going to be a big celebration afterwards – he’s definitely looking forward to that!
