A-level Classics students enjoy a day in the life as an undergraduate

Our Sixth Form Classics students headed to Newcastle University for an A-level Classics Conference. The students attended four lectures covering different aspects of their A-level course. The lectures were delivered by academic staff in lecture theatres and teaching rooms at the university. It was a great opportunity to experience university-style teaching, to look around a Russell Group University campus and to deepen knowledge and understanding of elements of the A-level specification. There was also an hour for lunch which meant that students could sample the delights of the Student Union food outlets!

Sally Byrom, Classics Teacher and Sixth Form Head of Year, said: “I was so pleased that Newcastle University reinstated this conference after a break due to Covid. It was a really useful day for the students and they did a brilliant job of transforming into undergraduates for the day!”
