A great exchange visit to Hamburg for Year 9 and 10 students

Twenty-two German GCSE Year 9 and 10 students have just returned from taking part in the first leg of this year's German exchange visit to Wedel, near Hamburg. After meeting their host families, the students spent four days experiencing everyday life in Germany, early starts, longer school lessons, fizzy mineral water and tasty German bread. Our visits to Hamburg's harbour and to the city of Lübeck were accompanied by fantastic winter weather, cold but with blue skies and winter sun. No visit to Germany at this time of year is completed without a visit to a German Christmas Market and the famous Lübeck Christmas Market did not disappoint. Kinderpunsch, Currywürst and Zuckerwatte being amongst the delicacies sampled by our students.  We are looking forward to welcoming our German friends to Richmond in March 2020.
