A FESTIVAL OF FUN!

An archery, kurling and boccia event was created to engage pupils who are less motivated by the traditional offer of school sport. Hosted in our sports hall, the primary pupils followed a carousel of fun archery and kurling games. Once they had completed these they played some boccia games against the other schools in attendance. Ten schools supported the event by bringing teams of six pupils.
Lynsey Carruthers, Primary School Sport Coordinator, said: “Our Year 12 student leaders and sports leaders led this event with enthusiasm and a great level of maturity. They had to think on their feet and adapt the games to individual pupils’ needs, work under pressure and to a set timescale and ended up producing an incredibly positive event.
“The aim of the event was to provide positive, new experiences for the pupils which was definitely achieved. Their happy faces, engagement in all of the games and support for each other within the presentation was testament to this.”
