A big shout out to Jonathan Watts, alumnus and author
Today, Jonathan Watts should have been visiting Richmond School as a guest speaker. Jonathan has recently had his first novel published and was scheduled to spend the day with us to talk to students across all year groups about his further studies and career, since leaving after his A-levels, and how he achieved his dream of becoming a published author.
Already, a number of our students have been inspired by Jonathan and have really enjoyed reading his fantasy novel, ‘Bury Me Where They Fall’. They are very disappointed that his visit is being postponed. There is a dedicated display in the school library where students will be able to find out more about Jonathan’s background and how he was motivated to write a book. Jonathan was also due to visit Castle Hill Book Shop and the town library.
We are really looking forward to rearranging Jonathan’s visit and giving out students the opportunity of having creative writing workshops and Q and A sessions with him.
