60 YEAR 10 STUDENTS IMPRESS DURING BRONZE DUKE OF EDINBURGH EXPEDITION

Having successfully completed their training and practice expedition weekends, 60 Year 10 students set off in groups for their final assessed Bronze DofE expedition recently.

The planned routes all started in and around Reeth with an overnight camping stop in Keld. The second day’s walking brought everyone back down Swaledale to finish in Healaugh or Reeth.

The weather was (mostly) kind, with sunny but breezy conditions on the first day. However Saturday night was chilly and the rain on Sunday morning helped encourage everyone to get up and out for an early start.

The students acquitted themselves brilliantly, impressing staff, assessors and other walkers alike with their positive, cheerful and determined attitudes.

Huge thanks as always to all the staff at Marrick Priory for training, assessing and supporting our students so well and to everyone at Rukin’s Campsite for making us feel so welcome – a really memorable experience for all involved!
