RICHMOND SCHOOL HOST HOTLY CONTESTED U11 POKÉMON FOOTBALL FINALS

Richmondshire Sports Partnership recently organised and hosted the North Yorkshire U11 Pokémon Football Primary Schools Cup Finals on the 3G pitch at Richmond School.

The morning session saw the girls’ teams play each other, then in the afternoon it was the boys’ turn. The standard of football was high and the games fast-paced. Four games were played at a time with teams quickly swapping to start the next match. Many parents had turned out to watch – they certainly saw plenty of football!

Each school that attended qualified by winning their area round prior to this competition. The games were officiated by exceptional young referees – all students at Richmond School: Seth Brown, Lily-Mae McCafferty, Emmy Raggett, Rudi Sartini, Lily Thwaite and Lissy White.

As well as the referees, two more students, Chloe Hanratty and Emily Jones, kept the tournament on track with their timekeeping and administration of the results.

The winning team from each competition now progresses through to the regional finals in March.
