THE HEADTEACHER’S CREDIT VALUES AWARD WAS PRESENTED TO SAM STELLING IN YEAR 11

Sam was nominated by Mrs Wand, Mrs Thompson and Ms Dunwoodie, who said: “We would like to nominate Sam for this week’s HTCVA. He is an absolute pleasure to teach in English and demonstrates all the school values every single lesson.

Sam is exceptionally hard working, showing real resilience and determination when faced with very challenging GCSE work. Although he is a naturally quiet student, Sam regularly pushes himself outside of his comfort zone to contribute to discussion and share his ideas, which are always thoughtful and helpful to the learning of others in the class. Sam also showed an impressive level of independence in the recent PPEs, working in exam conditions to produce an essay on Macbeth for English Literature as well as completing the English Language GCSE Paper 1 assessment.

Alongside all of this, Sam is unfailingly courteous and respectful, not only in his exemplary behaviour but also his kind nature: he always enquires after our well-being when he greets us on arrival at the lesson and wishes us a nice day as he leaves.”
