Information for Parents | PTA

The next PTA Meeting will be held on Monday 26th April

at 7.30pm in the Sixth Form Centre Bistro .

Everyone is welcome to attend!

Richmond School PTA links in with support activities for Richmond School in a variety of ways:

• Providing refreshments at Parents Evenings for teachers/parents
• Providing refreshments at school performances, concerts, plays etc.
• Fundraising to help provide/contribute to:
• Extra items/resources for school departments
• School trips
• Sports equipment
• Small grants to help talented pupils (i.e. sport, music, drama etc)
• Any other way which the Committee feels will benefit the students

The Committee comprises a small number of parents from across the school years but as parents’ time commitments change over the years we would encourage anyone interested in joining the Committee to click on the PTA link page to find out when the next meeting of the Committee is.  Not everyone has the time to join the Committee when their child begins school but it’s never too late to get involved.

If you would like to offer some help with these events, please contact the Secretary of the PTA through our link page.

The PTA fundraise in the following ways:

• A 100 Club (currently standing with 105 members).  If you would like to have a number you can join at any time during the year.  The annual cost is £25, pro-rata for people joining midway and there are 3 prizes each month comprising £50, £25 and £10
• Raffles at larger school events
• Christmas raffles
• Coffee mornings
• Race nights
• Etc, etc, etc

Over the years the PTA have helped provide the following:

• Lockers for all students
• Kayaks to restart the Canoe Club
• Equipment for the Circus Club
• Jackets for football teams representing the school abroad
• Goalkeeper's hockey kit
• Music stands for the Orchestra
• Folk evening event on a 6th Form visit to Russia
• Outside seating
• Secure display boards
• Equipment for many school departments eg CD players for Languages
• Resources for learning support
• Etc, etc

It really is worthwhile getting involved as your child makes their journey through school and we would encourage all parents to think about the ways in which they can help.
