WELCOME TO RICHMOND SCHOOL

These are exciting times for Richmond School as we embark on building a school for the future. We have just achieved the best SAT, GCSE and A level performance in the School’s history and we do not intend to rest on our laurels.

We believe in the limitless potential of young people and we offer many and varied opportunities for all students to thrive. Students need a happy, secure and well ordered school environment and we feel this is one of our hallmarks. We expect high standards of work and behaviour. The mature relationships between students and staff are frequently commented upon by visitors and Ofsted inspectors.

As a Creative Arts College, music, drama and dance play a crucial role in the school. Indeed, Ofsted inspectors commented on the impact Creative Arts makes towards the mature and confident way students express themselves.

I am also delighted to announce that because of our High Performing School status, we have been awarded a second specialism for Science and Maths. This is excellent news and will lead to further funding for developments in these two subjects. The bid was successful because it focused on student achievement and innovative teaching and learning.

The staff are committed to change and provide excellent lessons and extra curricular opportunities for all students. Our sports teams, for example, regularly win County and National honours. The breadth of opportunities runs from the traditional rugby, football, hockey and netball to circus skills.

Over the next two years £32m is being invested in building a school which matches the high aspirations of our students, parents and staff. Support of parents is crucial if we are to achieve the high targets we have set ourselves. Our aim is to be outstanding in all we do.
