- Income-based Job Seeker's Allowance
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Child Tax Credit with an income of less than £15,575 and not receiving Working Tax Credit (this will increase to £16,040 as from 1 April 2009)
- Guarantee element of State Pension Credit.

If you need help or advice in applying, please contact the ‘Free School Meals’ section at North Yorkshire County Council (01609-780780).

Cashless Catering

As part of the planning for our redesigned school, it’s our intention to introduce ‘cashless catering’. This is a system whereby all students obtain their meals via a card that has previously been credited with money at one of the cash dispensers around school or, in the case of those in receipt of ‘free’ school meals, by School Office.

We feel that this will support those on ‘free’ meals in a much more equitable way.

We hope to be in a position to introduce this system to all Year 8-11 students during the 2010 Autumn Term, with Year 7 being introduced when they come onto main site in September 2011.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the way in which we deal with ‘free’ meals within school, please don’t hesitate to contact Audrey Pledge at the school.
