Fun and games at inclusive boccia, basketball and dodgeball tournament

Richmond School took ten Year 12 students and five year 8 students to an Inclusive Boccia, Basketball and Dodgeball tournament at the Mowbray School, Bedale on Thursday 11th April. The Year 12 students were making another step on their sports leadership journey and worked with pupils from Richmond, SFX, Mowbray and Springhill School’s to coach them through the different sporting competitions, ensuring all had a positive experience.

The Butterwick Boys are inspirational young people of the year!

Three intrepid cyclists, who raised £4,800 for the Butterwick Hospice, have been recognised as inspirational young people of the Year with a prestigious award from Youth Focus: North East.

The award recognises the accomplishments of Richmond School and Sixth Form students,  brothers Andrew and James Lunn and their friend Marcus Weston, who conceived and achieved the daunting cycling challenge of Richmond to Richmond to support the work of the North-East’s Butterwick Hospice.

Girls score superb results at area football tournaments

Congratulations to the super-7-a-side footballers - Abbey Sankey, Connie Lord, Elsa Wright, Evie Gill, Faith Andrews, Lily Millar and Faith Andrews – who are the winners of the area tournament. No strangers to success, having already scooped the Year 7 5-a-side football tournament early in the year, the girls were most certainly on a roll.

Richmond Sixth Form footballers claim coveted County Cup

Richmond Sixth Form College football team have been crowned the Under 18 County Champions, beating Scarborough Sixth Form by a resounding 5-0 in this most-prestigious competition in the county footballing calendar.

 

Sixth form colleges and independent schools across the whole of North Yorkshire compete in the coveted knock-out competition, which saw Richmond Sixth Form College win five games to gain the trophy.  In the semi-final, Richmond defeated Queen Ethelburga’s College, 3-0, before meeting Scarborough at Whitby, with an incredible performance to secure the silverware.
