Best Problem Solvers Mathematicians have been rewarded for their efforts in a contest that adds them to the ranks of the best problem-solvers in the region. Richmond School and Sixth Form College students collected six accolades, the highest of any school, in a competition run by Newcastle University. The Newcastle University Maths Challenge set students ten mind-taxing problems, each one an individual assignment. Tetrathalon Challenge A talented athlete has competed for the second year running with the North of England team in the gruelling event of tetrathlon. Richmond School and Sixth Form College student Laura Mathias missed out on the finals of the National Schools’ Equestrian Association Eventers’ Challenge Championships at Hickstead to compete instead in Warwickshire. Swimming Success A young athlete is on the crest of a wave after securing success in his chosen sport. Swimmer Thom Flower is heading the field as he pursues his dreams of being ranked among the fastest in the world.
