Girls score superb results at area football tournaments

Year 7 and 8 Girls win area football tournament - Congratulations to the super-7-a-side footballers - Abbey Sankey, Connie Lord, Elsa Wright, Evie Gill, Faith Andrews, Lily Millar and Faith Andrews – who are the winners of the area tournament. No strangers to success, having already scooped the Year 7 5-a-side football tournament early in the year, the girls were most certainly on a roll.  They worked well and the experience of Faith and Maisy, in Year 8 gelled them together even more.  They played a round-robin tournament, competing against Bedale, Easingwold, SFX and Thirsk. They won every game up until their final where they conceded an unlucky penalty and only lost 1-0. Goal scorers were: Evie Gill (2), Faith Andrews (3) and Maisy Forbes (4).

A massive well done for fabulous result from a fabulous team. Special thanks to Mary Stones for helping out

Great effort by Year 9 and 10 girls’ football team - The combined Year9/10 team played their last tournament the year, working really well together and working hard for each other.  They won 3 games, lost 2 and drew 1, finishing 4th overall out of 7, adelivery a good, solid performance.  The team consisted of Amy Potter, Amy Simpson, AnnaTallantire, Charlotte Tindale, Ellen Atkinson, Emma Scott, Isobel Brooks and Olivia Palmer. It was the last tournament for the Year 10 girls, Anna, Charlotte and Olivia.  Goal  scorers were:  Amy Potter (3), Amy Simpson (1) and Olivia Palmer (2).  A great way to finish the season and all the girls represented the school really well as always.
