Restart A Heart students praised for their enthusiasm and maturity

We are always immensely appreciative of the team of volunteers who support our students with the Restart A Heart initiative each year.  These wonderful community champions give up their time to be First Responders with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and pass on their knowledge to our Year 8 students. Our students get so much from this programme, not only learning vital first-aid skills but also finding the event enjoyable and inspiring. It is therefore really lovely to receive feedback from the instructors about their experience.

Steve Wroe, First Responder and Retired University Lecturer and OFSTED inspector commented:

“I had the pleasure of working with your school in my capacity as a 'First Responder' with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service at the recent Restart A Heart day, which you school very kindly hosted.

“I would be grateful if you could pass my thanks to those pupil participated in this event. I would like to compliment your pupils on their enthusiasm, maturity and behaviour throughout the day. Sadly these days, young people often come in for undeserved criticism and I feel that the achievements of young people should be praised when appropriate and I feel that this is one such occasion when praise is well deserved.”
