Richmondshire cross-country success

Richmond School hosted a Key Stage 2 cross-country competition on Wednesday 2nd October 2019. The event saw 33 local Primary Schools in attendance, which translated to approximately 950 pupils running around our challenging course. The competition was supported by our Sports Leaders who had to independently manage groups of up to 300 pupils in the warm-up area, take charge of excited pupils at the starting point to begin the race safely, and efficiently manage the finish line to ensure all pupils’ finishing positions were recorded correctly.

They were also key to celebrating the pupils’ achievements as they crossed the line, as well as marshal and hare the event to ensure all pupils knew where to run. The event was a huge success which is largely down to the effectiveness of our sports leaders.
