Introduction from The Chair of Governors

Dear Potential Candidate

Thank you for expressing an interest in the role of Headteacher at Richmond School & Sixth Form College. We are very excited about the prospect of welcoming a new Headteacher in January 2018. The successful candidate will be joining what is one of the largest, oldest and best performing secondary schools in North Yorkshire.

Our future Headteacher will also be joining the school at an exciting time as we embark on academy status.  The successful candidate will be driving further improvements in our school as we seek to become an Academy Trust.

Over recent years the Governing Board and the Senior Leadership Team have formed a very powerful partnership which we all feel has taken the school a long way towards its ultimate goal of reaching an “Outstanding” OFSTED category. This is a journey on which we are expecting our new Headteacher to continue and ultimately achieve. The future Headteacher will also be expected to help develop strategic plans to support a wider education agenda in the North of England.

If the challenge and opportunity of this headship sounds like something you would be attracted to, then we would welcome receipt of an application and I would like to wish you my personal good luck with that process.

Yours sincerely

James A Robson MBE
